This Week in Tampa Bay: England Soccer, Hank Williams Jr., and Pride Month Kicks Off (June 2–8)
June is officially here, and the Bay is showing up. This week has something for everyone — international soccer at Raymond James, classic country, indie rock, Pride events, and a few freebies thrown in. Here's what's worth your time.
Tuesday, June 2
Young the Giant with Cold War Kids Yuengling Center, Tampa — 6:30 PMIf you haven't seen Young the Giant live, this is a good one to catch. They're touring behind their new material with Cold War Kids as support — a solid double bill for anyone into indie/alternative. Indoor venue, good sound.
Thursday, June 5
Hank Williams Jr. — MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre 4802 US Hwy 301 N, Tampa — 6:30 PMHank Jr. at the amphitheater is a summer classic. Outdoor show, big stage, and a catalog that basically plays itself. If you grew up on country or just want a big ol' live music night, this is the one.
First Friday Art Walk — Downtown Gulfport Thursday Fridays, 5–9 PM — FreeGulfport's First Friday is a quiet gem — local artists, gallery openings, street vendors, and the kind of laid-back vibe that makes you remember why people love living here. Free admission, easy parking, and walkable.
Saturday, June 6
England vs. New Zealand — Raymond James Stadium 4201 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa — 4:00 PMThis is the big one. England's national team, under Thomas Tuchel, comes to Tampa for a FIFA World Cup 2026 warm-up match against New Zealand. This is a full international — not an exhibition — and Tampa doesn't get matches like this often. Tickets are still available through resellers. Worth it if you're any kind of soccer fan.
Sunday, June 7
St. Pete Pride — Family Day on the Pier St. Pete Pier, 600 2nd Ave NE, St. Petersburg — 10 AM–2 PM — FreePride Month is here, and St. Pete knows how to do it right. Family Day on the Pier features kid-friendly activities, the 2nd Annual Pet Parade, and community resources along the waterfront. Free, all-ages, and a good way to spend a Sunday morning.
The Florida Orchestra at the Straz Carol Morsani Hall, Tampa — 2:00 PMIf your Sunday needs a different vibe — classical at the Straz. The Florida Orchestra is consistently excellent, and the Morsani Hall sounds great from almost any seat.
Every Weekend
Pinellas Farmers & Flea Bazaar Win Derby, 10490 Gandy Blvd, St. Pete — 7 AM–1 PM (Sat & Sun)Good produce, weird finds, cheap plants, and all the stuff that makes weekend markets worth waking up early for.
June is going to move fast. England at Raymond James is probably the can't-miss event of the whole week — matches like that don't come to Tampa every year.
